Cheesy peas!


You will need:

  • 1 large onion
  • 1 block frozen garlic
  • 2 blocks frozen ginger
  • 1 tin chopped tomatoes
  • 250g frozen peas
  • 500g paneer
  • Spices
    • 2 tsp dhania (coriander)
    • 1 tsp jeera (cumin)
    • 1/2 tsp haldi (turmeric)
  • Salt


Dice the onions, and fry gently until brown. Add the spices and fry on low heat to release the aroma. If the mixture sticks, deglaze the pan with lemon juice.

Add the tomatoes, then rinse the can with water and add that too, with a generous pinch of salt.

Bring the liquid to the boil, add the peas, return to the boil and add the cubed paneer. 

Let it simmer for a few minutes, until the paneer changes texture, and you’re done.

Don’t try to reduce it down too much, as it will thicken when it cools… see?
